Shakespeare Anyone? Podcast

A Midsummer Month's Recap

Shakespeare Anyone?

What we've been up to in the month of June

The days grow long and the podcast keeps growing! Before you slip into a dreamscape of summer reverie, check out what we’ve been up to this June—from new episodes to travel and an update on #HotShakespeareSummer!

This month, we kicked off our tenth (!!!!) play series with The Tempest. This is a huge milestone for us as a podcast--we never imagined that we’d make it to over 100 episodes, reach listeners in more than 70 countries, and chart in the top 100 performing arts podcasts on Apple Podcasts. We could not have imagined launching merch or the incredible academics, theatremakers, and authors we've been able to collaborate with.

Thank you for your support of the pod! We could not have done this without you.

#HotShakespeareSummer

Our #HotShakespeareSummer has officially begun! We've had a blast over on Instagram seeing photos from Shakespeare productions all over the US: from California, to Texas, to DC!

To join in the fun:

  1. 🎟 Go see a Shakespeare show — from park productions to candlelit classics.
  2. 📸 Take a photo or video — your outfit, the stage, the vibes, the picnic, the post-show glow.
  3. 🏷 Tag @shakespeareanyonepod in your story or post.
  4. ✨ Use the hashtag #HotShakespeareSummer
  5. 🔁 We’ll share your stories & shout out our favorite Shakespeare sightings all summer long.

Shakespeare Anyone? Podcast

We are two Shakespeare nerds who decided to make a podcast about our love for Shakespeare. In this podcast, we will tackle as many dimensions to Shakespeare’s plays as we can by looking at the text and how the text is viewed through modern lenses of feminism, racism, classism, colonialism, nationalism… all the-isms. We will discuss how his plays shaped both the past and present. And, as actors, we will look at how his work was performed throughout various periods of time. All while trying our best to approach his works without giving in to bardolatry. So...Shakespeare Anyone?
