August Updates from Shakespeare Anyone?

Shakespeare Anyone?

What we've been up to in the month of August

As we mentioned earlier this month (when we sent July's email late), August has kicked off an exciting season of work beyond the podcast that we are excited to share more about soon. Kourtney is wrapping up her dissertation in under 10 days, and Elyse is finishing the most recent draft of the family-friendly play about Shakespeare she is co-writing.

This month, we also celebrate the "birthdays" of two of our most popular episodes of all time: Twelfth Night: Gender and Queer Theory and Hamlet: Ophelia, Gertrude, and Female Agency.

Over on our Patreon, this month, Elyse shared more details about the Never Fear Shakespeare writing process. We are also preparing for an exciting bonus episode that will be out next month.

Shakespeare Anyone? Podcast

We are two Shakespeare nerds who decided to make a podcast about our love for Shakespeare. In this podcast, we will tackle as many dimensions to Shakespeare’s plays as we can by looking at the text and how the text is viewed through modern lenses of feminism, racism, classism, colonialism, nationalism… all the-isms. We will discuss how his plays shaped both the past and present. And, as actors, we will look at how his work was performed throughout various periods of time. All while trying our best to approach his works without giving in to bardolatry. So...Shakespeare Anyone?
