End of September and Beginning of October Updates from Shakespeare Anyone?

Shakespeare Anyone?

What we've been up to in the month of September

Apologies for this email being a couple days into October. As you may know, September has been a busy busy month here at Shakespeare Anyone? Kourtney officially completed her masters' thesis in Shakespeare Studies, and Elyse is currently in final preview performances for the the family-friendly play about Shakespeare she co-wrote--you can hear more about it in our most recent episode (below).

We also had two incredible surprises this month!

We learned that we are featured in Stratford Festival's study guide for their production of Macbeth this season. Find us under "Resources" > "Additional Resources on Macbeth and Shakespeare" here--we're in between resources from Shakespeare's Globe and The Folger Library(!)

We also learned that our episode "A Midsummer Night's Dream: Shakespeare and Climate Change" is cited as a resource in Performing Shakespeare on an Endangered Planet by Katherine Steele Brokaw and Elizabeth Freestone. You can find the book here. (Note: this is our Bookshop.org link, so if you click it and make a purchase, you will also support the podcast)

Shakespeare Anyone? Podcast

We are two Shakespeare nerds who decided to make a podcast about our love for Shakespeare. In this podcast, we will tackle as many dimensions to Shakespeare’s plays as we can by looking at the text and how the text is viewed through modern lenses of feminism, racism, classism, colonialism, nationalism… all the-isms. We will discuss how his plays shaped both the past and present. And, as actors, we will look at how his work was performed throughout various periods of time. All while trying our best to approach his works without giving in to bardolatry. So...Shakespeare Anyone?
